🚫 Off the Road Means Off the Road! — Understanding SORN Vehicles |
A vehicle that is declared SORN (Statutory Off Road Notification) is officially registered as not being used or kept on a public road. This usually applies when a vehicle is untaxed, uninsured, or not in use for a period of time. A SORN vehicle must be kept on private land, such as a driveway, garage, or private land—it cannot be parked on the street or any public highway at any time.
It’s important to remember that a SORN vehicle must not be driven under any circumstances while the SORN is in place. Driving or even parking it on a public road without the correct tax and insurance is an offence and could result in fines or enforcement action. If you plan to use the vehicle again, you must tax and insure it before returning it to the road.
Ensuring your vehicle is correctly registered and compliant helps keep our roads safe and avoids unnecessary penalties. ☑️
